Band History
For a number of years in the 1880s & 1890s the newspaper reports of Band contests included a full listing of all the members in the competeing Bands. The earliest reference to Richard Pearson is in 1890 when he is listed along with Robert (Bob) Pearson as a cornet player with the Kettering Rifle Band. Both the Peasons took part in the Rushden, Gretton and Burton Latimer Contests of that year
The report of the 1892 Rushden Contest lists R Pearson on Horn and R Pearson on BBb Bass. I assume that the bass player is Richard Pearson.
The reports of the1893 Burton Latimer Contest and the 1894 Kettering, Rushden and Raunds Contests again list an R Pearson on horn and one on Bass.
