Joyce was babtised twice
Firstly on the 19th August 1923 at Barton Methodist Chapel and then on the 12th March 1937 at St Mary's Church, Barton

Joyce was married twice, her first marriage to Noel Butler during the 2nd World War.
Noel died a year after their marriage on the 31st December 1943 and is buried in a War grave in Barton on Humber Cemetary.
There where no children to this marriage.
Joyce then married Frederick Samuel Ashton on the 6th October 1945 at Scunthorpe Registry Office.

Frederick Samuel was a Self Employed Chimney Sweep from the 1950's for most of his working life.
He also ran a small shop in Junction Square, Barton selling Toys and Comics in the 1950's
He suffered from "Muscular Atrophy" from childhood

Joyce died at the (age 48) on the 23rd May 1972 while working as a cleaner at The White Swan Hotel, Barton on Humber, Lincolnshire
Frederick Samuel died (age 71) on the 3rd November 1988 at Goxhill Nursing Home, Lincolnshire
